As a gamer with over six years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the collaboration between ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and DHL has been nothing short of revolutionary in the esports world. The introduction of CARGO, the robot mascot, has added an extra layer of excitement and engagement for fans like me.
For approximately six years, the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and DHL have collaborated to offer exclusive esports experiences to fans across the globe. Ranging from the exciting DHL Drop to Dota 2 Adventures and Ultimate10, every campaign has been tailored to strengthen the bond between spectators and their beloved games.
Through this collaboration, we’ve expanded into the Snapdragon Pro Series – the globe’s biggest multi-genre mobile esports tournament. We’ve also developed fresh avenues for interacting with our audience.
This year, during the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship by Snapdragon Pro Series at DreamHack Atlanta, spectators were introduced to a fresh character from the universe of this ecosystem: CARGO! This marked his second real-life appearance following his debut at the Snapdragon Pro Series Asphalt Legends: Unite Global Finals and the Snapdragon Pro Series Brawl Stars Championship 2024 Last Chance Qualifier. The robot mascot isn’t your standard Automaton; he’s a forward-thinking, out-of-the-box creative genius, who is here to motivate and amuse fans as he navigates the world of esports.
Clad in DHL’s signature red and yellow attire, the vibrant figure known as CARGO created quite an impression, traversing the event sites, taking pictures with enthusiasts, and distributing presents. But that’s merely a taste of what’s to come – expect CARGO to be a frequent sight at future Snapdragon Pro Series events, whether you attend in person or watch online.
As a diehard fan, I’d like to share my excitement about the captivating origin story of CARGO. In this animated tale, CARGO is presented as a robot brimming with extraordinary capabilities. Among these are the mind-blowing ones such as producing matter out of thin air (he can whip up items and even new elements instantly), summoning teleportation portals for swift transportation between gaming events on the move, and manipulating gravity (yes, you got that right, he can glide and perform feats defying the very laws of physics).
Beyond merely possessing powers, CARGO serves as a character – an energetic emissary for the Snapdragon Pro Series. His role is to foster connections between fans and their beloved players, teams, and competitions.
The initial video showcases CARGO’s debut in the Snapdragon Pro Series, with EFG and DHL planning to reveal subsequent episodes detailing his continued journey on Earth as he faces new obstacles, interacts with a diverse cast of characters, and unearths more of our planet’s esports culture.
With CARGO, brands like EFG and DHL are merging the digital and real world, creating a familiar and beloved figure for mobile esports enthusiasts worldwide. This is only the start for CARGO, so brace yourselves for even more thrilling journeys to come!
