In a press release about their TV show Laid, creators Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna shared the inspiration behind it. They explained, “Initially, we wanted to revive the classic romantic comedy vibe with its sweeping music and rainy kisses, perhaps featuring Anne Hathaway or another captivating actress.” However, they felt that given the challenging times (the pandemic and industry strikes), it needed a unique twist.
