Skeleton Crew Episode 4 Ending Explained: What Happens to Neel?

Is Neel dead or alive in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 4?

In the thrilling finale of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 4, I wasn’t exactly six feet under. One of my buddies was quick to point out just before the closing titles that I merely passed out, not met my maker!

On Achrann, the kids wind up apart from Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) and SM-33 (Nick Frost). Later, they’re spotted by locals of a tribe called the Troik. They soon realize that life here isn’t as peaceful as their home planet, but instead is marked by constant strife. Neel makes friends with a human girl named Hayna, who happens to be the daughter of the Troik leader. As time goes on, they learn that this tribe is engaged in conflict with another, the Hattan.

In due course, Neel, Fern, along with others, are enlisted for war and transported to the battlefront. Instead, they encounter Jod and SM-33. Jod manages to secure the release of the children by returning livestock taken by the Hattan back to the Troik. As the episode concludes, Hayna directs our heroes towards the Fallen Sanctum, where they unearth a map detailing all nine jewels. Regrettably, they learn that the coordinates for At Attin have been obliterated, with SM-33 being the culprit behind its destruction.

In a stroke of genius, Fren devises a cunning scheme to manipulate the droid’s memory, making it remember that the former captain had killed his crew who knew the location of At Attin. With the order to eliminate anyone seeking the treasure of At Attin still fresh in its circuits, the droid attempts to attack the children. Thankfully, Jod manages to shut him down before any harm could be done, but not before Neel displays remarkable courage and lures the deadly droid towards himself. Exhausted by his actions, Neel then collapses.

Now, how the story will unfold further remains to be seen.
