As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast who has grown up with the legendary Man of Steel, I can hardly contain my excitement as the release date for the upcoming Superman movie directed by James Gunn draws nearer. With over three decades of watching the exploits of Kal-El unfold on screens big and small, it’s safe to say that I’ve become something of a connoisseur when it comes to all things Superman.

Superman teaser trailer coming out this week
On Thursday, December 19, 2024, you can expect the first glimpse of the Superman movie through its teaser trailer! This exciting announcement was shared by James Gunn, who’s not only directing the film but also serves as co-head of the DC Universe, on his social media platform.
Previously on X (formerly known as Twitter), user Gunn posted a short clip of the DCU Superman emblem. In the caption, he hinted, “Superman #trailer is coming Thursday.” This news was additionally shared via the official Superman movie page. There, they disclosed that the trailer would be released at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

In the DC Universe, it’s planned that Superman will be the premier character. Notably, an animated adaptation of Superman from the DCU was featured in a sneak peek trailer for the forthcoming episodes of Creature Commandos at the conclusion of its initial two-episode release.
The trailer presents a dismal scenario where Superman is shown crucified. Additionally, viewers can observe Starfire and an apparent Mr. Terrific within the frame. They are both impaled on stakes and positioned on either side of Superman’s cross. In the background, there are other characters who seem to have endured a similar tragic destiny.
Significantly, according to Matt Belloni of Puck News in his latest update, it’s suggested that Superman won’t headline the initial trailer for James Gunn’s approaching film. Rather, there are indications that a canine, possibly Krypto, might take the spotlight instead.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that James Gunn has penned the script for a Superman movie! The stellar cast includes David Corenswet, who takes on the iconic role of Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan brilliantly portraying Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult steps into the sinister shoes of Lex Luthor, while Skyler Gisondo brings Jimmy Olsen to life. Adding to the ensemble is Isabela Merced, who takes flight as Hawkgirl. I can hardly wait to see this team in action!
