As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast who’s seen his fair share of superhero adaptations, I must say that the release of James Gunn’s Superman movie has got me pretty excited! The star-studded cast, the stunning visuals, and the promise of a heartfelt story have all piqued my interest.

The first motion poster for James Gunn’s Superman movie has been released.

In July 2025, the movie featuring Superman, part of the DC Universe, will hit theaters across the United States. This film, directed by Gunn, features David Corenswet portraying Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan taking on the role of Lois Lane.

From X, the Warner Bros. Pictures’ official account unveiled the initial motion poster for Superman. In this poster, the Man of Steel can be seen soaring through the skies, accompanied by the slogan, “Look skyward.” Here’s a peek at the poster:

Who else stars in James Gunn’s Superman?

Among Corenswet and Brosnahan, Isabela Merced is cast as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi portrays Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion takes on the role of Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan plays Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría becomes The Engineer, Sara Sampaio steps into Eve Teschmacher’s shoes, Skyler Gisondo is Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult assumes Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore gets the part of Otis, Wendell Pierce plays Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince acts as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell becomes Martha Kent, Beck Bennett takes Steve Lombard’s role, Mikaela Hoover portrays Cat Grant, and Christopher McDonald stars as Ron Troupe in this Superman production.

As a die-hard Superman enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation as the official plot details for the upcoming movie are still under lock and key. Yet, the excitement is palpable as it’s been officially confirmed that a tantalizing teaser trailer will be unveiled on a momentous date – Thursday, December 19, 2024.

I aimed to create a movie featuring a virtuous man amidst less-than-ideal circumstances,” Gunn expressed on Instagram upon completion of filming in July. “The compassion, decency, and affection I’ve witnessed daily on the set have revitalized me and propelled me forward when I felt drained. From the depths of my heart, thank you all. It has been an immense privilege. Though the goal was Superman, the true treasure lies in the hard work, laughter, feelings, brainstorming, and enchantment we’ve experienced together on set – and for that, I am eternally grateful.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that on July 11, 2025, I’ll be witnessing the grand premiere of Superman in U.S. theaters, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures. It marks the beginning of the DCU’s first chapter, titled “Gods and Monsters.” Can’t wait to see the Man of Steel soar!
