Ryan Reynolds Gives Update on Deadpool 4 With Wolverine

As a die-hard Marvel fan, the success of Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine this year has been nothing short of exhilarating. The movie not only shattered box office records but also left us craving for more. However, hearing Reynolds’ recent comments about the possibility of Deadpool 4 has me feeling like a kid on Christmas morning who’s just found out that Santa skipped their house this year.

This year, Ryan Reynolds experienced tremendous triumph in dual roles as an actor and producer, particularly with the debut of movies like Deadpool and Wolverine. More recently, he shared his musings regarding a potential fourth installment in the Deadpool series, known as Deadpool 4.

In 2024, the team-up film starring Deadpool and Wolverine from Marvel Studios shattered multiple box office records. Earning more than $1.3 billion worldwide, this blockbuster sequel claimed the title of the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever made. Yet, Ryan Reynolds has shown no signs of immediately reprising his role for another installment in the series.

A solo Deadpool 4 would be redundant, Ryan Reynolds says

Ryan Reynolds shared insights about the potential Deadpool & Wolverine sequel during a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, conducted at his Tribeca workplace.

Ever since Deadpool joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have eagerly anticipated where they might see him appear next. But, Ryan Reynold’s latest remarks on Deadpool 4 indicate that we may not get a follow-up movie anytime soon.

When asked about Deadpool 4, Reynolds shared that the time spent working on Deadpool and Wolverine was “some of the best times of my life and a mental stronghold I often revisit.” Yet, he admits uncertainty regarding a sequel, stating, “I’m still unsure about what lies ahead. Regarding Deadpool and Wolverine, I have some concepts and suggestions, but they don’t necessarily revolve around Deadpool as the main character.” Reynolds referred to Deadpool more as a team player in future movies rather than a potential solo lead. However, he also mentioned his desire to reunite Deadpool and Wolverine in future projects.

In a recent statement, Reynolds expressed his desire to avoid making the main storyline of a sequel revolve around Deadpool once more because he feels it would be repetitive and unoriginal to do so again, and a fourth time might feel too repetitive. Reynolds emphasized that he wants to maintain the fun aspect in future Deadpool films without compromising on it. He further mentioned that there is still an engaging and powerful story arc for Deadpool left to explore.
