As a die-hard Dexter fan who’s spent countless nights dissecting each season’s dark twists and turns, I can barely contain my excitement at hearing Clyde Phillips confirm that Dexter: Resurrection will grace our screens in June 2025! The anticipation has been building since the announcement of Dexter: Original Sin, and now with a confirmed release date and filming schedule, it feels like I’ve just hit the jackpot.
Following the announcement of the release date for “Dexter: Original Sin”, producer Clyde Phillips has revealed the filming and premiere timeline for “Dexter: Resurrection”. As the showrunner for the original Dexter series (seasons 1-4) and its spin-off, Dexter: New Blood, Phillips is back at the helm for Original Sin and Resurrection. In a recent interview, he has now disclosed when fans can expect Michael C. Hall to reappear as the notorious serial killer in Resurrection.
Clyde Phillips says Dexter: Resurrection will release in June 2025
Based on data from Phillips, Dexter: Resurrection is expected to launch in June 2025.
According to DiscussingFilm, the creator of “The Get Real” series announced that production will commence in early January of the coming year, with broadcast scheduled for June 2025. In simpler terms, Phillips shared that they’ll begin filming in January and the show is expected to air in June 2025.
Significantly, Phillips had earlier indicated that Dexter: Resurrection would be airing in summer 2025. Consequently, his recent announcement doesn’t catch fans off guard, as they have been anxiously anticipating Hall’s return as the ruthless killer. Furthermore, according to Comic Book Resources, Marcos Siega will direct the first episode of Resurrection.
In the upcoming series titled “Dexter: Resurrection,” we’ll continue the storyline from where “New Blood” left off, which essentially functioned as a conclusion for Dexter Morgan following his tumultuous adventures in the original show. The finale of “New Blood” saw Dexter’s son abandoning him to presumably die in the frigid wilderness of Iron Lake. However, at this point, it remains unclear how the famous serial killer will reappear in “Resurrection,” given that his fate was seemingly sealed in the previous installment.
Although Hall’s return was confirmed at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con in Resurrection, Phillips made it clear by saying, “Let me give you a hint: Dexter is not alive anymore. I wouldn’t mislead the viewers like that. It would be untruthful.
Though we’re yet to pin down the exact launch date for Resurrection, fans eagerly awaiting can pass the time by diving into Dexter’s backstory through Original Sin. This intriguing tale will be available on Paramount+ starting December 13, 2024.
