As a lifelong sports enthusiast with a particular fondness for American football, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment when hearing about the break-in at Joe Burrow’s house during such an exciting time for Bengals fans. It’s disheartening to know that even a star player like Burrow isn’t immune to the dangers that come with fame, especially when he’s off the field and focusing on his team’s performance.
During the Cincinnati Bengals’ NFL game against the Dallas Cowboys, the impressive performance of Joe Burrow was overshadowed by an unfortunate break-in at his residence. As fate would have it, this unwanted intrusion occurred while Burrow was playing for the Bengals in Texas. Despite being a previous Pro Bowl nominee, this absence from home appeared to invite a premeditated burglary. However, let’s delve into what exactly transpired at Joe Burrow’s house on Monday.
Hey there fellow gamers! I’ve got some news that might remind us of an in-game glitch, but unfortunately it’s happening in real life. A few days ago, a sneaky intruder managed to get past the security at a 28-year-old footballer’s house. Here’s what we know so far about this unexpected invasion.
Joe Burrow’s house broke into during Monday Night Football
On Monday evening, it was reported by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio that Joe Burrow’s residence in Anderson Township, Ohio, was subject to a burglary.
The crime was discovered following a 911 call made by a 22-year-old woman, believed to be an employee of the NFL veteran, who was residing at Joe Burrow’s residence at that moment. Additionally, the police were notified by the female’s mother about the incident.
After making the call, WLWT has shared the audio recording of the woman’s emergency call. In this public release, the woman can be heard saying, “Someone is attempting to force entry into our home at this moment. My daughter is inside. This is Joe Burrow’s residence where she is currently staying. He’s away at a football game. She’s unsure if she should hide or step outside…She mentioned that someone was already in the house.
Upon reaching the location, the woman observed a broken bedroom window and signs of theft. Subsequently, she offered an “overview” or “summary” of the items that might have been taken by the thieves from Joe Burrow’s residence, according to Sports Illustrated.
The burglary at Burrow’s house is another instance of the recent string of thefts that have affected several NFL players recently. In particular, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs were also victims of such crimes back in October 2024. As a result, the NFL, along with the NBA and NHL, have issued alerts to teams about the increasing risk of organized crime groups that specifically target athletes’ homes while they are away, as reported by CNN.
At the time of writing, it is unknown if all the aforementioned crimes have any common links.
