As per a statement issued by Bob DiBiasio, the senior vice president of Cleveland Guardians, they were informed about the passing of Rocky Colavito by his family, who are former baseball stars.
91-year-old Rocky Colavito passed away peacefully at home in Bernville, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, December 10th, surrounded by loved ones. The Cleveland Guardians expressed their sorrow over his passing via their official platform (previously known as Twitter), saying, “We are profoundly sorry for the loss of Rocky Colavito. Our sympathies go out to his family and acquaintances during this difficult period.
According to The Guardians, during his 14-year professional baseball journey, Colavito spent eight seasons as part of their team. Moreover, they mentioned that he represented them in three All-Star games, which accounted for nearly a third of the nine All-Star games he played throughout his career.
In a press statement, DiBiasio expressed that Rocky held our organization in high regard and had great respect for the fans. He often said, “I’m grateful God allowed me to play in Cleveland.” We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the entire Colavito family, as well as his numerous teammates and other organizations who were affected by his demise.
