Live-Action Tangled Adaptation in the Works At Disney

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for Disney classics, I must admit my excitement bubbling over at the news of a live-action Tangled! Having grown up watching Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi bring Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to life, I can’t help but wonder what this modern adaptation will bring.

According to a recent report by Deadline, Disney has started discussions about a real-life version of the 2010 animated film “Tangled,” potentially collaborating with a prospective director for the project.

What do we know about the live-action Tangled?

According to the most recent update from Deadline, discussions are underway for Michael Gracey – known for helming 2017’s The Greatest Showman and set to direct the upcoming Robbie Williams biopic Better Man – to take on the directorial role in an upcoming live-action film. However, it’s important to note that nothing has been officially confirmed at this stage.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (of “Do Revenge” and “Thor: Love and Thunder”) has reportedly penned the latest script draft. Additionally, Kristin Burr and Lucy Kitada are mentioned as potential producers for the upcoming film. Whether the movie will strictly adhere to the original animated film’s plot points remains uncertain; however, it is suggested that the new production may loosely follow its storyline.

First published in 2010, Tangled is a loose adaptation of the timeless story of Rapunzel, which appears in the Brothers Grimm’s collection of fairy tales. This narrative revolves around Rapunzel, a princess with enchanting golden tresses, as she ventures out from her tower, aided by the rogue named Flynn Rider. Together, they embark on an exhilarating romantic journey filled with adventure.
