Previously, Netflix had already hosted popular shows such as The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men. On August 19th, both “Fear the Walking Dead” and season 1 of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” were added to Netflix’s vast library. Furthermore, “Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire”, “Mayfair Witches”, “Dark Winds”, “Preacher”, and more titles also made their way onto the streaming platform.
Fear the Walking Dead,” initially launched on AMC in 2015, serves as the first spin-off of the original series. This show concluded its narrative journey in November 2023. The storyline initiates with the outbreak in Los Angeles and follows the Clark/Manewa family as they navigate a world overrun by the undead. The initial three seasons were impressive additions to the Walking Dead Universe, but the tale had more lows than highs throughout its broadcast. A key point to keep in mind while watching Fear TWD is that it significantly varies from the primary series, which is a positive aspect for a spin-off.
In a new twist from the original series, “The Walking Dead: Daryl” is the second show spun off directly following “Dead City.” The first season of this series primarily revolves around the character Daryl (played by Norman Reedus), as he embarks on an unexpected voyage to France. This spinoff is highly acclaimed due to its extensive world-building, and it was filmed in France, providing a picturesque setting for the narrative to unfold.

Initially, THR announced the extension of AMC/Netflix agreement back in July, and it was then mentioned that “The Walking Dead: Dead City” would be released on January 13th. However, the recent updates from Netflix for 2025 do not list this spinoff among their releases.
