As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that the trailer for Kentum has piqued my interest significantly. Having traversed countless virtual worlds and faced countless challenges, I find myself drawn to the survival aspect of this 2D “craftervania” adventure game.
Kentum is a 2D game resembling a “crafting-based adventure,” somewhat like Satisfactory. Its main emphasis lies in the survival and progression mechanics of the gameplay experience.
What is Kentum about?
Yesterday, at the Latin American Game Showcase, Tlön Industries unveiled their forthcoming game Kentum by releasing an official gameplay trailer.
In the year 10,000, you find yourself as Kent, a man who had an unusually prolonged slumber. Upon waking, you discover you’re completely isolated, with only a stick and a robot comrade for company.
The task at hand is straightforward: Stay Alive. Initially, resources might seem scarce, but they’re sufficient for progress. Over time, you’ll need to investigate, assess, and organize your environment to make the most of it.
In this world, knowledge is your most powerful tool; however, it’s essential to exercise caution, as there are creatures who may attempt to exploit or harm you with just a few deceiving maneuvers.
Even if you do die, it’s not immediately game over. Back in your base, you have a cloning machine that gives you the chance to start over and over again. Still, death brings major setbacks, so it’s best to remain cautious anyway.
The game is scheduled to come out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam (PC) around the year 2025. Regrettably, there’s no specific release date available as of now.
