As a longtime Call of Duty enthusiast who’s been through the trenches of World at War and the deserts of Modern Warfare 2, I can’t contain my excitement about the recent appearance of classic CoD titles on the Microsoft Store for PC! The rumors swirling around the gaming community suggest that these games might be making their way to Game Pass soon.
After the massive acquisition of Activision, Microsoft is carefully adding Activision’s extensive game library to its widely used Game Pass subscription service. Fans of different series like Spyro and Transformers are eagerly awaiting their beloved games, but most gamers are keeping a close eye on Call of Duty.
Although the latest Black Ops 6 game is now available on Xbox Game Pass, many past Call of Duty titles have yet to be added. Nevertheless, it appears that Microsoft is gradually preparing to incorporate the entire Call of Duty collection into their selection of Game Pass games.
Classic Infinity Ward CoDs have appeared on Microsoft Store
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share the exciting news: XboxEra has pointed out that classic titles like Call of Duty, United Offensive, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare have surfaced on the Microsoft Store for PC. This trend seems to mirror other games gearing up for Game Pass, which is fantastic if you’re a fan of these older games!
Three classic Call of Duty titles – Call of Duty 1, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007) – have surfaced on the Microsoft Store for PC purchase. As of today (December 9th), these games are now available. There’s a possibility they might join the Game Pass library soon.

For many, Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are regarded as some of the strongest entries into Activision’s shooter series thanks to their simplistic gameplay and innovative mechanics that still appear in the most recent releases. CoD4 was the first to feature Perks in multiplayer along with the Prestige system that returned with the launch of Black Ops 6 in October 2024.
Their potential inclusion in Game Pass subscriptions is a positive for those yet to play the earlier Call of Duty games or those who want to relive the glory days of patrolling Carrentan with a Kar98k sniper rifle equipped.
Will they come to Game Pass?
Although it seems likely that Call of Duty games will appear on Game Pass, they might still be available on the Microsoft Store at their regular price. Games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, as well as Singularity, have been offered on the storefront but not on Game Pass, so it’s best to manage your expectations for now.
2024 has already seen its lineup of Game Pass games confirmed, featuring a remastered edition of Crash Team Racing and Indiana Jones: The Great Circle. With the 2024 Game Awards promising some exciting revelations, it’s possible that more games could join the ranks of Modern Warfare 3 (2023) and Black Ops 6 this year on Game Pass.
As a dedicated gamer, I’d suggest you hop over to the optimized setup for the Krig 6 in Black Ops 6, perfect for mid-range combat. Plus, don’t forget to snag those active promotions offering some sweet, free goodies!
