As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in navigating the complexities of public figures and their personal lives, I find myself deeply troubled by the ongoing saga of Malayalam actor Siddique‘s arrest. The allegations against him are grave, and it is crucial that justice prevails regardless of the individual involved.
On December 6, Malayalam actor Siddique was taken into custody regarding an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against a female actress. This action follows an interim bail that was granted to him by the Supreme Court on November 19.
It appears that the actor in question may soon be freed from custody and will also appear before the court. Previously, Siddique’s plea for anticipatory bail was turned down by the Kerala High Court. During the latest hearing at the highest court, it was the victim who was asked about her silence regarding this issue for eight years. Instead of filing a complaint with the local police station, she decided to reveal the truth through social media.
In a report, Justice Bela M. Trivedi, presiding over the session court, is said to have asked Revathy, “Why did you show bravery on Facebook but not visit the police station?
During the court proceedings, Revathy stated, via her legal representative, that only after receiving the reports and conclusions from the Hema Committee did she gain assurance that she could reveal the truth and that her concerns would be addressed by the relevant authorities.
Previously, legal representatives involved in Siddique’s case emphasized that he had encountered Revathy only on one occasion. This fact, they pointed out, made any accusation of sexual misconduct during that meeting impossible.
Previously, the actor refuted the accusations of sexual misconduct, stating that his initial encounter with the accuser actually occurred in front of her parents. Over the past eight and a half years, no instances of such misconduct have reportedly transpired.
In an open letter directed towards the Kerala police, Siddique stated that he encountered the actress solely during the preview screening of the movie ‘Sukhamayirikatte’ in January or February of 2016. On this day, she conversed with him in the presence of her parents. However, as alleged by her recently, no instance of rape has taken place at any point before or after that encounter, which is over 8 and a half years ago. Furthermore, no incident of “inappropriate sexual behavior” or “sexual propositions through words,” as claimed by her five years ago, has occurred either.
