As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast with over two decades of immersive experiences under my belt, I must say that Arianna Rivas joining The Black Phone 2 cast is nothing short of exhilarating! The original film was a chilling masterpiece, and with Ethan Hawke and Mason Thames reprising their roles, the sequel promises to be even more terrifying.
Arianna Rivas has joined the cast of The Black Phone 2.
In simple terms, “The Black Phone 2” is an upcoming film that serves as the follow-up to last year’s “The Black Phone”. Once again, Ethan Hawke takes on the character of The Grabber, and Mason Thames reappears as Finney in this new production.
By the given deadline, Rivas has been chosen to portray a yet-to-be-revealed role in the upcoming sequel, set for release in October 2025.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that I had the privilege of portraying Lexi in Prom Dates, a captivating film that’s now available for streaming on Hulu in 2024. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! In early 2025, you can catch me in David Ayer’s upcoming movie, Levon’s Trade. This highly anticipated project boasts an impressive cast including Jason Statham, David Harbour, and Michael Peña, and it’s based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Chuck Dixon, with a screenplay penned by none other than Sylvester Stallone. I can hardly wait for its release in January 2025!
What else do we know about The Black Phone 2?
As of now, details about the plot for The Black Phone 2 have yet to be disclosed. Alongside Finney (Thames) and Gwen (Hawke), Jeremy Davies and Miguel Cazarez Mora will return as characters Terrence and Robin. Demián Bichir has joined the cast in a currently undisclosed role.
In a follow-up to The Black Phone, Scott Derrickson – the original director – will once again take the reins. Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill have also penned the screenplay for this sequel, while jointly producing it with Jason Blum. Joe Hill, author of the 2004 short story that inspired the first film, assumes the role of executive producer in this project.
In the first movie, the plot summary goes like this: “Finney Shaw, a timid yet intelligent 13-year-old boy, finds himself captive in a soundproof basement at the mercy of a cruel and masked assailant. As a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, he uncovers the fact that he can listen to the voices of his predecessor victims – and they are determined to prevent what happened to them from happening to Finney.
The Black Phone 2 releases in United States theaters on October 17, 2025, from Universal Pictures.
