Right now, Nexon’s free-to-play action game, The First Descendant, is undergoing maintenance after the launch of its 1.2.0 update. Since the start of Season 2, players have expressed disappointment over the extended maintenance duration.
The First Descendant servers hit huge maintenance
According to the official Twitter account of The First Descendant, developed by Nexon, there was originally scheduled to be an hour-long maintenance period to address update-related instability. However, the game developer later informed fans in a subsequent message that the server downtime would last significantly longer than anticipated.
As a dedicated fan, I’m sharing some exciting news straight from our developers. Due to some unexpected server instability, they’ve had to perform emergency maintenance. Once this maintenance work is done, they’ll update us with all the details. So, let’s be patient and keep our fingers crossed! 🚀💻❤️
Currently, our development team has pinpointed the problem and intends to restore the game for players soon within the next few hours. There’s a chance, though, that the game might need more time before it comes back online.

The team informed fans that they’ve pinpointed the issue and are now working diligently on a resolution, estimating it to take around 1-2 hours. They promised to share more information once the situation is fully addressed. They regret any trouble this might have caused.
In this free-to-play, ongoing game, players are frustrated by frequent server outages, which seem particularly inconvenient given they happen immediately after a new update rollout. Although many gamers acknowledge the developers’ swift responses, others continue to express dissatisfaction because the game’s downtime often clashes with their available leisure time.
Just as is common with multiplayer games that are continuously updated, occasional server outages can occur, especially when a major update like the 1.2.0 update, which introduces Season 2 of Void Chaser, is about to roll out before significant character changes in January. It’s no wonder then that the team might encounter problems during this transition period.
