Renukaswamy case: Karnataka government challenges Darshan Thoogudeepa’s interim bail order in HC

As someone who has always admired the magic that Darshan Thoogudeepa weaves on the silver screen, it’s disheartening to see his life taking such a tragic turn off-screen. The buzz surrounding his interim bail being challenged is a testament to the gravity of the situation.

There’s been lots of talk lately about Darshan Thoogudeepa’s temporary release from jail being under scrutiny. Darshan, a Kannada actor facing murder charges after the death of his 33-year-old fan Renukaswamy, was granted temporary freedom due to health issues. However, this interim bail was only valid for six weeks.

Now, the Karnataka government has filed a new petition in the High Court contesting this decision.

The Karnataka administration has submitted a request for reconsideration in the High Court, contesting the temporary release order given to Darshan Thoogudeepa on October 30th. It is anticipated that this appeal will be addressed as a fresh case sometime towards the end of this week or at the beginning of the following one.

On November 16th, rumors emerged about Darshan Thoogudeepa’s bail being contested. In fact, the Police Commissioner of Bengaluru, B. Dayanand, announced his intention to challenge the interim bail granted to the accused actor.

Actually, it’s been whispered that the Home Department had endorsed and agreed to the plan presented by the police commissioner and has been actively trying to revoke the bail.

For the uninitiated, Darshan Thoogudeepa received temporary release from jail following his complaint of acute back pain. Upon medical examination, it was discovered that he urgently needed spinal surgery.

Meanwhile, in an update, actress Pavithra Gowda, who is the main suspect alongside Darshan in a high-profile murder case, argued in court to reject any allegations of a “plot” or “scheming” in her request for bail.

The attorney for the actress disclosed that Pavithra was greatly distressed by offensive texts she got from the late Renukaswamy. Nevertheless, the defense persisted that she had no part in any plot concerning the attack or demise of the victim.

In legal terms, they characterized the event as an isolated incident that occurred in Pavithra’s generally spotless life and professional journey, with no previous criminal history attached to it.
