Having delved into the world of Rachel Yoder’s novel and now getting a glimpse behind the scenes with Amy Adams and Marielle Heller is an absolute treat.

Looking forward to premiering an exclusive Nightbitch video from Searchlight Pictures’ upcoming dark comedy horror movie, which is adapted from Rachel Yoder’s 2021 novel of the same name. After its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, the film will be released in cinemas starting this Friday, December 6.

What happens in the Nightbitch video?

The video behind the scenes showcases Amy Adams and director Marielle Heller discussing their personal bond with the story’s narrative. It also showcases Heller’s creative approach for the film and how exquisitely she adapted the novel into a cinematic experience. Furthermore, aside from Adams, the movie boasts performances by Scoot McNairy, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Ella Thomas, Jessica Harper, Rosley Gentle, Stacey Swift, and others.

The plot revolves around a woman adjusting to life at home with her toddler in the suburbs, who gradually discovers the wild strength within motherhood, as she begins to notice strange and incontrovertible indications that she might be transforming into a dog.

The movie Nightbitch was created and supervised by Marielle Heller, who is recognized for her previous works like Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018) and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019). She also starred as Alma Wheatley in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit. The production team includes Heller, Adams, Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Christina Oh, and Stacy O’Neil. Since its debut last September, the film has earned a Tomatometer score of 64% on Rotten Tomatoes.
