As a die-hard fan of The Walking Dead, who has been following this gripping saga since its inception, I must say that the introduction of Jeffrey Grimes in season 3 would be nothing short of a game-changer. Having read The Alien comic, I can’t help but imagine the emotional reunion between Daryl and his long-lost brother amidst the chaos of the zombie apocalypse.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is currently filming for its third season in Spain. The upcoming season will take the story from France to Spain, where Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) will continue to make their way home to the Commonwealth. The comic story features Jeffrey Grimes, brother of Rick, who died in Spain during the early days after the outbreak. Could this series incorporate this character?
In “The Walking Dead: The Alien,” a concise 32-page tale, readers encounter Jeffrey Grimes and learn about his struggle for survival in Barcelona, Spain. There has been much debate among fans and media outlets as to whether Jeffrey might cross paths with Daryl and Carol during the third season.
In the comic, Jeffrey meets a woman called Claudia, who rescues him from zombies. They’re both aiming to reach America – he due to his brother being hospitalized, and she because there are whispers that U.S. authorities have found a way to control the outbreak. Claudia tells him she has a contact in Ibiza who can arrange a flight to America for them.
They navigate the sewers and reach the harbor, finding a boat they’d previously missed, which turned out to be inhabited by a walker. While attempting to rescue Claudia who fell into the water, Jeff was bitten. He gives her a message for his brother but passes away before he could tell her his location.
As a dedicated fan, I’ve come to realize that the comic tales of “The Walking Dead” universe often undergo changes for the show. If fate denies Daryl a reunion with Rick, it would surely be thrilling if he crosses paths with his long-lost brother instead.
Introducing Jeff, a seasoned survivor who’s made it this far, would undoubtedly bring valuable survival expertise to Daryl and Carol’s strategy for re-entering America. It would be fantastic to imagine Rick reuniting with not just one, but both of his brothers.
There have been no announcements indicating that Jeff has been cast for the spinoff but it is exciting to speculate.
