A Man on the Inside Season 2 Update Given by Ted Danson & Creator

As a die-hard fan of Ted Danson and his exceptional acting skills, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of a second season of “A Man on the Inside.” With Danson’s charming presence and Mike Schur’s brilliant storytelling, this show has been a delightful addition to my streaming queue.

A new A Man on the Inside Season 2 update has been given by star Ted Danson and creator Mike Schur.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Danson and Schur were questioned if they’ve discussed the possibility of renewing the series with Netflix, given that the final episode provides a somewhat conclusive ending.

According to Danson, whether or not the show continues is entirely up to Netflix, and they won’t have any new information for another month at least.

What do we know about A Man on the Inside Season 2?

Danson remarked, “The outcome hinges on getting picked up, that much is clear.” Netflix operates on its own schedule, so we won’t find out for another month, but things appear to be going quite well. However, it’s a situation where you don’t want to get too ahead of yourself, and at this point, it feels more like keeping our fingers crossed rather than making definite plans.

Schur additionally contributed, mentioning that the series wasn’t initially conceived as a limited run, but instead was proposed to Netflix as an ongoing production. He stated that there are indeed foundations for a second season, and he has communicated his readiness to continue producing the show as long as Netflix continues wanting him and Danson on board.

According to Schur, we proposed the concept as a continuing series, not a one-time event. It will take a few weeks, possibly even months, to determine if this will happen. However, before the season had ended, discussions about a potential second season were already underway. We were brainstorming various scenarios and trying to figure out how it would be unique yet similar. The character can’t disguise himself at Pacific View anymore, that opportunity has passed. But by the end of the season, we have a 76-year-old man with renewed vigor, a new mission, and a budding career as an undercover detective. This sets up many possibilities for future seasons.

I’ve proposed to Netflix that I’d continue writing the show with Ted Danson as an undercover detective indefinitely, should they choose to keep compensating me. If given the opportunity, I’m ready to commit to this project up until 2050.

A Man on the Inside is currently available to watch via stream on Netflix.
