As a long-time fan who has traversed the radioactive wastelands of the Stalker universe since its inception, I must say that the release of Stalker 2 Patch 1.0.1 feels like a breath of fresh air amidst the chaos of Russian disinformation campaigns and eager fans. GSC Game World has truly listened to their community by reducing repair costs for weapons and armor, making exploration more enticing and less burdensome on our wallets.
At long last, the primary update for Stalker 2 has arrived, jam-packed with numerous corrections to GSC Game World’s open-world survival title. Amidst their struggles against Russian disinformation efforts and a vast fanbase, this significant update introduces many alterations to the game, though the A-Life system remains faulty.
Stalker 2 Patch 1.0.1
According to the update details for the latest Stalker 2 version, GSC Game World has introduced several impressive modifications to their survival title. One notable adjustment is a reduction in repair expenses for weapons and armor, which was implemented following player suggestions. This change aims to make navigating the expansive open world more enticing and beneficial for players.
Moreover, the recent upgrade noticeably boosts the price of artifacts, motivating players to find and market them. Concurrently, rewards for missions have been significantly amplified, often doubling or tripling their initial values.
In a more user-friendly approach, GSC Game World has modified combat to be less irritating overall. Now, non-human adversaries inflict less harm and are more susceptible to damage. Previously, as mentioned in our review, engaging with humans was enjoyable, but the troublesome Bloodsuckers presented a problem.
In the recent update, vampires have undergone a notable reduction in power. The damage they inflict has been adjusted, making them more vulnerable to gunfire and causing them to absorb less damage when they retreat from combat, giving players an advantage in tracking and eradicating them effectively.
A-Life is still broken
At the moment, the primary challenge with Stalker 2 lies in its faulty A-Life system. Numerous modders are making efforts to rectify this issue, yet unfortunately, GSC Game World has not managed to repair the AI simulation for the game’s initial major update as of now. However, the team remains dedicated to addressing it further.
As a dedicated enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that our journey in crafting this game is ongoing, and we’re diligently working on upcoming updates. We’re particularly focusing on squashing those pesky A-Life glitches, ensuring they’ll be resolved in the forthcoming patches.
If you’re still waiting until the AI simulation system is fixed to experience the new game, the entire original trilogy of Stalker games is currently on sale right now. They’re also fantastic on Steam Deck.
