As a die-hard fan of both Warrior Nun and the legendary Voltron, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming live-action Voltron movie! The casting news for this project is like a dream come true, with Alba Baptista joining Sterling K. Brown, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Henry Cavill, Rita Ora, John Kim, Samson Kayo, Tharanya Tharan, and many others.
Warrior Nun’s Alba Baptista has joined the cast of the live-action Voltron movie.
At present, Amazon MGM Studios is developing a live-action film based on Voltron, with Rawson Marshall Thurber set to direct. Previously known for films like ‘Central Intelligence’ (2016) and ‘Red Notice’ (2021), Thurber collaborated with Ellen Shanman on the scriptwriting process.
Previously, it had been revealed that Sterling K. Brown, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Henry Cavill, Rita Ora, and John Kim are all set to appear in the movie.
Now, Baptista has officially joined the cast of the Voltron film.
Who else has joined the cast of the live-action Voltron movie?
Along with Baptista, Samson Kayo and Tharanya Tharan have been cast in Thurber’s film.
In the Warrior Nun series, Baptista is recognized for her role as Ava Silva; she also played Natasha in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022) and will appear in David Lowery’s Mother Mary. Simultaneously, Kayo portrayed Oluwande on Our Flag Means Death and lent his voice to Baby Bear in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022). On the other hand, Tharan has made appearances in television shows like Mustangs FC, More Than This, and Year Of.
At present, specifics about the plot for the upcoming Voltron live-action movie are being kept confidential. The production of the film is jointly handled by Thurber and Todd Lieberman, through Hidden Pictures, with Bob Koplar and David Hoberman’s Hobie Films also involved in the process.
As a devoted fan, I’m eager to guarantee that we remain faithful to the essence and soul of Voltron in our upcoming film. In this live-action adaptation, we’ll be introducing a fresh crew of pilots. We’ve modernized Voltron for today’s world, but we’re committed to preserving…the classic features that you cherish, features I adore. I can hardly wait to reveal it all to you!
A release date for the live-action Voltron movie has not yet been announced by Amazon MGM Studios.
