As a seasoned gamer and a lifelong fan of professional wrestling, I must admit that the news about Adam Copeland (Edge) has been a rollercoaster ride. The man’s resilience is unparalleled, having faced numerous injuries throughout his career yet always bouncing back stronger.
As a dedicated gamer and an ardent fan of AEW, I’ve been following the journey of Adam Copeland, the man once known as Edge in WWE. For almost half a year now, he’s been off the ring after going toe-to-toe with Malakai Black at Double or Nothing. In that epic clash, as the AEW TNT champion, he defended his title in a brutal Barbed Wire Steel Cage match. Though I celebrated his victory over Black, little did we know that he would sustain a severe injury in the process.
In the course of the game, he tried a move called an elbow drop off the cage’s peak onto Black. Initially, it looked like the maneuver was successful, but later it was discovered that Copeland had fractured his tibia, necessitating surgery. This injury led him to give up the TNT title he had earlier snatched from his friend, Christian Cage. After being out of action for almost half a year, recent reports suggest that Copeland’s acting responsibilities in Hollywood have postponed his comeback to the ring.
Adam Copeland cleared for physicality, return delayed by filming
According to the latest updates from PWInsider, Adam Copeland is now free to engage in physical activities. Yet, it’s unlikely that he will rejoin the promotion before the completion of the filming for the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
According to reports, Adam Copeland has been given approval for physical activities but won’t likely appear consistently with AEW until he completes filming for the second season of Disney’s Percy Jackson. It is anticipated that production will conclude in January.

In the Disney+ series, Copeland depicts Ares, the Greek deity of War. Reports indicate that production on season two is underway and is projected to wrap up in January 2025. However, it remains undetermined when the AEW celebrity will reappear.
During Copeland’s time away, Jack Perry clinched the TNT Championship. However, Daniel Garcia managed to take it back from him during AEW Full Gear 2024 over the weekend. There is a history between Garcia and Copeland that goes back to March, when they fought in a match to determine the number one contender for the TNT Championship. In that battle, Copeland came out on top. Now that Garcia holds the TNT title, it’ll be intriguing to see if Copeland aims to reclaim the championship he never technically lost upon his return.
