When is The King of Kings release date?
On April 11, 2025, the much-anticipated movie titled “The King of Kings” is set to hit the big screens, coinciding with the Holy Week. This premiere will mark its official theatrical launch, where it will face off with two suspenseful films: “Drop,” starring Meghann Fahy, and “The Amateur,” featuring Rami Malek.
As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that this upcoming animated masterpiece is helmed by none other than Seong-ho “Jay” Jang, a talented South Korean filmmaker, who collaborated with Robert Edwards from Treasure Planet on its screenplay. The star-studded cast includes Oscar Isaac as Jesus, Kenneth Branagh as Charles Dickens, Forest Whitaker as Peter the Apostle, Uma Thurman as Catherine Dickens, and Roman Griffin Davis as Walter Dickens. This incredible production is executive produced by Jamie Thomason and Andrew Mann, with Woo-hyung Kim handling cinematography and Jang producing. I can’t wait to see it unfold on the big screen!
This animation tells the tale of Charles and Walter Dickens, who embark on a remarkable journey through different dimensions as the famous storyteller weaves his youngest son’s creative mind with the life of Jesus, his struggles, triumphs, friends, and enemies. The film allows the Dickens duo (alongside their feline companion Willa) to become deeply involved in this ancient narrative, intermingling with Jesus, his disciples, and his opponents. The skilled voice actors breathe new life into these familiar characters, making this animated adaptation of the biblical story more relatable, comprehensible, and entertaining than ever before for families, particularly children of all ages.
