As a die-hard fan of Tollywood and Devi Sri Prasad‘s music, I must admit that watching this behind-the-scenes drama unfold between DSP and Ravi Shankar has been like a rollercoaster ride! It’s not every day we get to witness the raw emotions of our favorite artists spill out in public.
For a while now, music creator Devi Sri Prasad has been linked with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa series. Initially, it was expected that he would contribute to its second part by creating its background music. However, rumors earlier emerged stating that the makers had replaced DSP. The primary reason given for this replacement was his delay in delivering the tracks on time. Recently, Devi Sri Prasad has spoken out about this reported disagreement.
At the electrifying Pushpa 2 event held in vibrant Chennai, I, as a seasoned lifestyle aficionado, found myself onstage alongside the illustrious Devi Sri Prasad. In his captivating address, he gracefully tackled the recent controversy that had been swirling around him.
DSP spoke to Ravi Shankar and said, “Ravi sir, it seems like you’ve been expressing concerns about me, claiming that I failed to submit the song or the background score on schedule. I understand your affection for me. After all, where there is love, there are both praises and criticisms. However, it appears that your criticisms of me outweigh your expressions of love.
In my experience, I must admit that, being an introvert myself, I found it challenging to step out of my comfort zone and create a distinct presence in front of the camera, despite always arriving well ahead of schedule at events.
Without a moment’s pause, DSP openly shared his astonishment at the unfavorable response he received from Ravi Shankar, the producer of Pushpa 2, who asserted that DSP had been tardy in joining their team.
Upon my arrival, you commented, “Sorry for the wrong timing, sir. You’re late.” I was wondering how I could respond. If I were to tackle each issue individually, it seems ineffective. However, I am always open to your suggestions and discussions.
It appears that the musician’s impromptu argument with the producer during their live performance has attracted quite a bit of notice, suggesting that there may be some tension between them.
For those not familiar with the subject, previous reports indicated that the creators of Pushpa 2 sought out Thaman to develop the background music due to concerns about delays in DSP’s delivery of his work.
On the contrary, reports suggest that DSP remains involved in the project and has created various tracks for the movie. Meanwhile, Thaman and a team of other music directors are handling the creation of the film’s overall background score.
The fresh track “Kissik” from DSP’s latest movie, featuring Allu Arjun and Sreeleela, appeared to be an instant hit upon its debut. The actors’ rhythmic dance routines combined with the catchy tunes of the song created a harmonious blend that seemed almost flawless within the film.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is all set to hit theaters on December 5, 2024.
