As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for the macabre and a soft spot for holiday-themed entertainment, I find myself rather intrigued by this week‘s offerings on Netflix. While I might prefer battling digital demons or racing virtual cars, the allure of true crime documentaries, cheesy holiday movies, and competitive baking shows is hard to resist.
This week is Thanksgiving! For those who’d rather escape the family festivities and seek entertainment, Netflix has some fresh options. There’s a newly released true crime documentary, a heartwarming holiday movie featuring Lindsay Lohan, and a new baking competition series inspired by an old favorite, based around the holidays.
Kicking off the week of November 25, 2024, is the documentary titled “Cold Case: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey“. With this title, you might have an idea of its subject matter. If you’re a certain age group, it may seem like a case that has been discussed numerous times in the past. But what could a new documentary offer that hasn’t already been mentioned?
As a true crime enthusiast, I can’t help but be captivated by this documentary series that delves into the tragic murder of JonBenét Ramsey, a young beauty queen, and the ensuing speculations about who her killer might have been. This case, being so high-profile due to her fame, has left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness.

This week will unveil the movie titled “Our Little Secret.” Featuring Lindsay Lohan, Ian Harding, Kristin Chenoweth, and Jon Rudnitsky, it’s a story about two former lovers who find themselves sharing Christmas due to an unexpected revelation – their new partners are siblings! Oh boy, this promises to be quite the amusing situation. And while we all know how such stories usually wrap up, let’s enjoy the ride. The film premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, November 27th, serving as an ideal way to kick off the festive season.

Ready for some festive fun with a dash of friendly rivalry? That’s where “Is It Cake? Holiday” steps into the picture! Just like before, talented bakers create incredibly realistic cakes, but this time, they have to resemble holiday-themed objects to win big. The hilarious Mikey Day returns as host, and you can stream it on Netflix starting Thanksgiving Day, November 28th. This could be the perfect entertainment for a family bonding moment during the holiday or when you’re in a post-feast food coma!
