As an ardent fan of Tamil cinema, I must confess that this year has been a rollercoaster ride, but one film that stands out is Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan and the enchanting Sai Pallavi. The movie has undoubtedly made a significant impact on both the audience and the box office. However, it seems that this cinematic marvel has also stumbled into an unexpected legal controversy.
This year, the film “Amaran” starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi is being recognized as one of the standout performances. The movie has been praised by audiences and has made a significant amount of money at the box office. However, it’s recently found itself in a legal predicament.
A pupil is seeking a monetary settlement worth approximately 11 million rupees from the creators of the movie “Amaran,” claiming they misused her phone number, showing it on screen in one of the movie’s scenes without her consent.
As per accounts, in a sequence from Amaran, Sai Pallavi throws away a wadded-up piece of paper bearing a phone number.
The student asserts that the particular number is hers, and since the movie came out, she’s been receiving numerous phone calls from enthusiasts eager to chat with the actress.
It seems that the individuals who were calling that number thought it might be connected to actress Sai Pallavi or Indhu Rebecca Varghese, the actual spouse of the late Major Mukund Varadarajan.
At first, the student found herself bewildered due to an unexpected surge of phone calls and voicemails. However, it soon became clear to her that her personal data had accidentally been exposed in a movie without her knowledge.
The pupil mentioned that she’d shared information regarding the problem on social networking sites, specifically tagging the movie’s director, Rajkumar Periasamy, and main actor Sivakarthikeyan. Yet, with no reply forthcoming, she opted to initiate a lawsuit.
As an over-the-moon fan, I can’t help but share my personal experience: In a public announcement, I declared that altering my cherished phone number seems like an impossible task. That’s because it’s associated with numerous vital digital identities and credentials that have become an integral part of my daily life.
She mentioned that she’s hesitant to switch her phone number due to a problem, since it’s connected to her Aadhaar, bank accounts, and various educational portals.
On October 31, 2024, the movie titled “Amaran” faced competition from other films that were released simultaneously. Despite this tough competition, it found its unique niche and earned an impressive sum of ₹225 crore within India.
