As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for both literature and cinema, I must say, the addition of Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, and Shazad Latif to the Wuthering Heights cast is nothing short of exhilarating! With their impressive resumes, these talented actors are sure to breathe new life into the classic tale.

The ensemble for the movie adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights’ is growing, as three additional key actors have been brought on board by director Emerald Fennell for their production.

Who is joining the Wuthering Heights cast?

As per a recent update from Deadline, actors Hong Chau (from The Whale), Alison Oliver (Saltburn), and Shazad Latif (Magpie) have signed on for significant parts in an upcoming project. While the specific roles they’ll play in the movie are yet to be disclosed, given that they’ve been cast as the “three remaining major roles,” it’s reasonable to expect that they will play crucial characters in the film.

Chau has gained recognition for her contributions to movies like Downsizing, The Menu, and The Whale, with the latter landing her a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award nomination. In 2023, Oliver first appeared on screen in Fennell’s psychological comedy thriller Saltburn, playing Venetia Catton, who is Felix (portrayed by Jacob Elordi)’s sister. Lastly, Latif is widely recognized for his appearances in the popular BBC TV series Spooks, Star Trek: Discovery, Penny Dreadful, and more recently, he starred in the 2024 neo-noir thriller Magpie.

The upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights features Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in leading roles. At present, details about other cast members are not available, but it’s been confirmed that the movie is under development, with filming expected to commence around 2025. Besides directing, Fennell will also write and produce this project, which marks her next venture after Saltburn in 2023 and Promising Young Woman in 2020.

The upcoming project is inspired by Emily Brontë’s iconic 1847 novel and will feature Robbie and Elordi in the roles of Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff. The story revolves around these two characters, with the Earnshaws and Lintons being the primary families, exploring their complex relationships that span multiple years.

Ever since it was published back in the 1800s, Wuthering Heights is commonly recognized as one of the most outstanding novels ever penned. This remarkable piece of literature has inspired numerous interpretations across various platforms, ranging from films, television series, to stage presentations based on the novel itself.
