As a seasoned gamer who has battled my fair share of cheaters in the digital battlefield, I am thrilled to hear about Tencent and Team Jade’s commitment to a “zero tolerance cheating policy” for their upcoming game, Delta Force. The analogy of cheating as a “long-lasting cancer of the genre” rings true, and I wholeheartedly support any studio that takes such a serious stance against this scourge.
In the upcoming free-to-play first-person shooter from Tencent, Delta Force, there will be a strict “no tolerance” approach towards cheating. The game, which revives the series’ expansive open environments and strategic combat for contemporary players, emphasizes that eradicating cheaters is crucial for the game to thrive, according to developer Team Jade.
In an interview with VideoGamer, game director Ricky Liao described cheating as a persistent problem or “cancer” within the genre. He further explained that creating games in the shooter category is particularly challenging when it comes to preventing cheating, especially for free-to-play titles, since they lack a financial barrier that could limit the number of cheaters.
Delta Force devs are dedicated to fighting cheaters
In conversation with VideoGamer, Liao emphasized that eliminating dishonest players from Delta Force is of great significance. If cheaters continue to flood the newly launched free-to-play game, genuine players – those who invest in the game through battle pass purchases – may eventually abandon the title.
Liao emphasized that our dedication and readiness to combat hackers is key. Since Delta Force is a free-to-play game, we aim to sustain it for a long time, and we understand the importance of tackling cheaters to ensure the longevity of our game.
Apart from implementing ACE anti-cheat, Team Jade has strengthened their internal cheater detection unit for even greater removal of unscrupulous players in the game. Liao clarifies that this team is “constantly ready to handle cheating matters,” enabling them to depend on more than just their anti-cheat system for dealing with these issues.
“It’s either us or the cheaters.”

“The ultimate goal is to make hacking not worth their while,” Liao said, hoping to drive nefarious gamers away from the free-to-play title.
Killer moves
After launching our new free-to-play shooter on PC on December 4th, Team Jade is dedicated to continuously enhancing the game post-release. However, we’ve also got some powerful strategies ready to combat common cheating issues within the game.
As a gamer, I’ve been frustrated by the rampant wallhacking in FPS games. That’s why I’m excited about Team Jade’s innovative “mist” system. This feature shrouds what players can’t actually see, making it impossible for cheating software to detect anything beyond that mist. It’s just one of the many anti-cheat measures they’re working on for their upcoming shooter.
On December 5, 2024, Delta Force will debut on PC through Steam in an early access format. Additionally, development is ongoing for versions on Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
