Born and raised in Chennai, this banker-turned-actor decided to leave his lucrative job behind to pursue his dreams, and boy, did he make the right choice!

Today’s “Meet the Star” will focus on an actor who graced Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe). The person we’re discussing today primarily works in Tamil films and began his career with a suspenseful thriller movie back in 2012. Who is Arjun Das?

Arjun Das, born on October 5, 1990, in Chennai, is a well-known Tamil actor. In an interview, this actor disclosed that he used to work as a banker in Dubai. Yet, instead of sticking with his financially rewarding position, Arjun chose to leave it behind to chase his cinematic aspirations.

Apart from his acting career, Arjun Das reminisced about his earlier days when he was overweight and managed to shed an impressive 36 kg. Later in 2012, Arjun made his first appearance on the big screen with the movie called Perumaan. After the film’s success, he seized the opportunity to work as a radio jockey for the Drive show at Radio One 94.3FM.

The actor attributes this position to providing him with financial stability as he prepared to embark on his film career. Additionally, it allowed him to cultivate a following due to his distinctive vocal style.

Arjun Das gained popularity following his appearance in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s movie Kaithi. At first, he felt reluctant to accept the role, questioning the complexity of the character. After trying out for a scene that ultimately didn’t make it into the final edit, he was cast as the film’s villain instead.

In the movie, he carried out fundamental investigations to accurately depict his character on the silver screen. His acting and unique vocal delivery earned him acclaim from many.

Enthralled by his performance, Lokesh Kanagaraj invited him to rejoin for the movie titled Master. Starring Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi as the primary characters, Arjun became part of the production a short while after filming had started. In this movie, he portrayed Das, a secondary villain who manipulated kids in a juvenile detention center.

Additionally, he acted with Kamal Haasan in the movie Vikram. Many times, Arjun has publicly acknowledged Lokesh’s role in molding his professional path.
