As a seasoned gamer of conventions and fan events, I can confidently say that The Gathering 2024 was an unforgettable experience! The second day was a whirlwind, filled with excitement and a few missteps. It seems some attendees were caught off guard by the importance of being vigilant for announcements and keeping track of their schedules – a lesson learned for next time.
On the second day of an event in Sasnak City, there’s usually a bustle of activity. There’s always something happening, so it’s crucial to pay attention to all updates. This was particularly significant during The Gathering 2024.
One point I’d like to make is that Day 2 got off to a rocky start as individuals failed to pay attention. They didn’t catch their names being called and were not mindful of where they should be present. This resulted in people missing out on important matters, causing issues throughout the rest of the day.
On the second day, things began to fall into place. This allowed for all planned activities to occur, but it’s crucial to stay attentive and be at the right locations. Although it might not be as formal as a large conference where everyone is unfamiliar, there are still certain obligations to observe and pay attention.
More photos, autographs, and meet and greets
On Day 2, there’s an opportunity for many more fans to secure their mementos in the form of photos and autographs. However, the pace started off a bit sluggish in the morning, partly due to some cast members arriving later than expected. The Celeb Photos team, who handle the photography, are instrumental in keeping things moving smoothly and ensuring everyone gets their turn swiftly.
Autograph sessions require a bit more time due to some actors enjoying conversations with fans. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, I can understand your predicament as I too have experienced guiding lines and witnessing the affectionate chats between actors and their fans.
During the day, there were numerous opportunities for meeting and greeting, with a repeat session for both Lauren and Tim. If you had purchased a meet-and-greet ticket for either of them but missed out on Day 1, you were scheduled for Day 2. This information was clearly outlined in your packet, so you knew exactly when to queue up.
Undeniably, a panel graced the event on Day 2. It wasn’t quite the whirlwind of chaos we witnessed on Day 1, but it was an exceptional opportunity to gain insights directly from the cast about their cherished filming spots, unforgettable experiences, and much more. The vibrant Outlander community on TikTok even had a role in steering the discussion, posing questions during the panel. Among the TikTok team members this year was Sarah Mast, who kick-started our beloved Outlander TikTok page.
During an event, all questions are posed by attendees. Prior to the event, these questions are emailed in and then penned down by the panel moderators. This method ensures a seamless flow of discussion. Interestingly, this practice was initially implemented during strike action to prevent problems with off-limit questions for the cast, but it has persisted because it functions so effectively.
Lallybroch events happen on Saturday night at The Gathering 2024
On Saturdays night, it’s a major event for everyone, but particularly for those who have tickets to Lallybroch. The festivities kick off at the Chocolate Shop, where there will be another rotating photo booth session. However, this exclusive experience is only accessible to Lallybroch ticket holders and isn’t available for purchase, making the event more intimate and enjoyable for all participants.
Subsequently, the focus shifts towards Blue Mountain Tipples and Nibbles. Ticket holders of Lallybroch are included in the event as part of their package, and additional tickets can be purchased. Typically, during registration, a sign-up sheet is provided for friends to sit together. However, this year, seating arrangements were made later on. While it’s enjoyable to sit with friends, this event primarily offers an opportunity to listen to the cast, making table assignments less important.
There are no selfies at Blue Mountain. This is purely just to get to know the cast better.
Absolutely, there’s the Saturday Night Party which kicks off when Blue Mountain begins. Some folks start their fun right away, while others join later on, following Blue Mountain.
As a gamer, I hopped onto the dance floor alongside the cast for a lively set of tunes. It was our moment to pass on the groove and teach them the moves for The Wobble. This part of the evening was off-limits to cameras, making it an exclusive, carefree space for us all to dance freely without any scrutiny. After all, we wanted to enjoy these special moments, so following the rules was key.
