As a long-time ARMY, I can confidently say that Jin’s comeback has been nothing short of magical. His album, “Happy,” is a testament to his versatility and emotional depth, taking us on a journey through love, friendship, and the great outdoors.
The anticipation began when The Tonight Show hinted at Jin’s upcoming solo debut by releasing a video reminiscent of the ’90s era. Jimmy Fallon, clutching a “Top Secret” envelope, dramatically inserted a floppy disk into an endearingly vintage computer. After what seemed like dial-up speed wait, Jin’s bright visage and his scheduled appearance date—November 20—appeared on the screen, astonishing Fallon. Nostalgia? Affirmed. Jin? Confirmed beyond doubt.
As a die-hard fan, I must say that Fallon’s stage isn’t new territory for Jin. Ever since BTS made their grand entrance as a full band on the Tonight Show back in 2018, it feels like a second home for us. Who could ever forget the electrifying performances of “Idol” and “I’m Fine”, or our attempt to keep up with the Fortnite dance craze? And let me tell you, the virtual appearances during the pandemic in 2020 were nothing short of a godsend for ARMYs everywhere. Now, Jin joins Jimin and SUGA, who have already made their solo debuts on this show, demonstrating that even when we take a break (though it feels like more of a pause than a hiatus), BTS continues to rule the scene.
The comeback we didn’t know we needed
Following the amusement of fans with his popular tune “Super Tuna” (known as a viral hit), Jin’s initial solo album, titled “Happy,” delves into a more profound emotional realm. As its name implies, the album embodies the feeling of happiness, and Jin skillfully mixes his characteristic humor with sincere affection across the entire playlist.
Title single “Running Wild” encapsulates the essence of Jin: optimistic, inspiring, and brimming with a positive message urging forward momentum. It’s an ideal representation of Jin’s daring and captivating personality. While penning this piece, I couldn’t help but grin—Jin’s charisma is truly infectious.
Fans got a sample of the album’s invigorating atmosphere with “I’ll Be There,” an advance single that, as Jin himself put it, is just as bubbly as opening a crisp, cold drink. The music video, brimming with Jin’s signature humor and good looks, is visually appealing and harmonizes wonderfully with the track’s upbeat rhythm. It showcases Jin at his best, seamlessly combining playfulness and sincerity in an endearing manner.
This song, released before the album, is as refreshing as a can of soda! Make sure to check out the music video, too, to see how witty and handsome I am!
However, “Happy” isn’t just about cheerfulness – Jin demonstrates a deep emotional side in the collaboration with Taka and Toru from ONE OK ROCK, titled “Falling.” Their collective talent is evident, particularly in Toru’s guitar work which lends depth to this introspective song. This track showcases Jin’s versatility, as he effortlessly moves from humor to heartfelt introspection.
Additionally, there’s the heartfelt track titled “I Will Come to You,” which seems to be the emotional core of the album. As confirmed by Jin, these words were penned as a tender letter to ARMY, filled with the raw emotion of a person deeply missing their fans. The song exudes intimacy and warmth, creating a sense of a personal embrace straight from Jin himself.

In an already heartwarming display, Jin added to our feelings of pure bliss by sharing a “soundtrack for happiness,” a compilation of his music and songs such as “Who” by Jimin. The bond between them continues to be stunningly beautiful as Jimin elevated the emotional intensity even more by updating his profile picture to a snapshot of Jin from the “I’ll Be There” music video. When you thought the feelings had subsided, BTS manages to tug at your heartstrings all over again. Rest assured, the emotional impact? Definitely there—and it’s the most wonderful kind of hurt.
It seems like Jimin has once more updated his WeVerse profile picture to one of Jin, implying a playful claim that he is actually the one BTS member fans should be most smitten with. 😜

From Super Tuna to supernova
By the way, I’ve got to mention the freshly released album of Running Wild remixes. As a fan, I feel like Jin himself revealed in Weverse Magazine that these tracks are an extension of him—created with the same dedication and finesse he’s always demonstrated, whether it’s hitting those high notes or casting a line in the wilderness. Truly a multi-talented individual!
It’s evident that Jin is sending a clear message with his recent performances and he seems to have put the hiatus behind him: “Who needs a break, when you can come back stronger?” HYBE has announced that BTS will return with their next full comeback in 2026, but some observant fans have found an intriguing clue in one of Jin’s music videos – a license plate reading “December 2025.” Given BTS’ talent for conveying hidden messages subtly, this could suggest something thrilling is on the horizon. Fans of BTS are well-versed in deciphering cryptic clues, and now it appears Stray Kids are following suit – they have noticed a reference to Friday the 13th in one of their music videos, and shortly after, announced their upcoming album titled “HOP“, due for release on December 13. We think it’s unlikely that this is just a coincidence.
As Jin continues to keep fans intrigued, ARMY members aren’t getting much rest. From V’s heartwarming Christmas duet with Bing Crosby, to RM’s revealing documentary, and an endless flow of updates, it seems that ARMYs never truly get a moment of tranquility. And if you’re part of the ARMY/STAY community, you know all too well the reality of the struggle. Now, news about Stray Kids’ tour across America and Europe has everyone looking in Jin’s direction. Will the globally handsome sensation return to American stages soon? Only time—and perhaps another floppy disk—will reveal the answer.
At present, let’s cherish Jin’s love letter, bask in the enchantment of “Happy”, and be patient for what lies ahead. For when it comes to Jin, every subsequent action promises to make the wait worthwhile.
