As a gamer who’s been following WWE for more than two decades, I must say the rumors surrounding CM Punk and Survivor Series: WarGames have me on the edge of my seat! The anticipation is like waiting for that rare drop in a game you’ve been grinding for hours.
A significant speculation has arisen about the potential participation of former WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk at the upcoming event, Survivor Series: WarGames. During the Bad Blood 2024 encounter, CM Punk engaged in a grueling Hell in a Cell battle with Drew McIntyre.
After their intense confrontation, neither CM Punk nor Drew McIntyre have appeared on WWE broadcasts. Earlier rumors hinted at a potential match between Gunther and CM Punk at Survivor Series: WarGames.
Despite the initial plans not being realized, it turned out that Damian Priest would challenge Gunther for his title at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. With CM Punk’s participation in Survivor Series: WarGames yet to be confirmed, fans are eagerly discussing possible roles he might take on.
In light of all the buzz, it’s being suggested by some wrestling experts that Punk could potentially take a key part in the upcoming event. The rumor mill is churning out the possibility that he could join Roman Reigns’ WarGames squad as their fifth member.
CM Punk predicted to be the fifth member in Survivor Series: WarGames match
According to wrestling reporters Corey Brennan from Fightful and Mike Johnson from PWInsider, there’s a strong possibility that CM Punk will team up with the original Bloodline for the Survivor Series: WarGames event. Brennan even speculates that it would make more sense for Punk to be part of the WarGames match rather than Seth Rollins joining the OG Bloodline.
It would be more logical for CM Punk to fill the vacant War Games spot, as opposed to Seth Rollins continuing to refuse the OG Bloodline, especially given that Bronson has joined the New Bloodline instead of aligning with the original group.

Mike Johnson shared a similar viewpoint during the PWI Elite podcast. He underscored that Paul Heyman is a crucial element in the current storyline, saying, “Let me assure you, the fifth man will be CM Punk. The reason Paul Heyman is so instrumental to this narrative at present, even down to that impressive conclusion on ‘SmackDown’ last Friday where Paul Heyman’s phone line was disconnected, is not without significance.
He also mentioned, “Roman is asking Paul for guidance, assistance, and advice. The original Paul Heyman, not including Brock at this point, is CM Punk… Punk will be partnering with the Original Bloodline.
It seems like the hints are suggesting that Paul Heyman might recruit CM Punk again as the fifth participant in the WarGames match, since Seth Rollins declined and Roman Reigns hasn’t been able to reach him by phone.
