As a seasoned Dead By Daylight gamer with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the 2v8 mode has been a refreshing change this year. However, the killer queue times have been a bit of a letdown, and I’ve found myself twiddling my thumbs more often than not. The idea of transforming DBD 2v8 into 3v5 has sparked some intriguing discussions within the community, and I must admit, it sounds like an exciting prospect on paper.
One of the best additions to Dead By Daylight this year has been 2v8 mode. However, while the limited-time mode has been a lot of fun, there has been issues such as killer queue times. Players have suggested numerous ways to resolve the issue, and a recent concept has involved transforming DBD 2v8 into 3v5. It’s a wild proposition on paper, and a developer has responded.
As a dedicated Dead By Daylight (DBD) gamer, I’ve got some exciting news to share! The DBD Mobile team seems to be addressing concerns about the game being shut down, which is a relief for us fans. On top of that, there’s been a buzz suggesting a new Japanese killer for March, not The Grudge, to mix things up in the game.
Despite the anticipation that December would be a significant month for the DBD community, it’s disappointing to learn that the 2v8 mode won’t persist. BeHaviour intends to reintroduce the Limited Time Mode in future updates, but they currently have no plans to develop it into a 3v5 format.
Dead By Daylight dev responds to 3v5 proposition
In the discussion boards on Behaviour Interactive, a Dead by Daylight player proposed an interesting concept: incorporating a 3 versus 5 game mode into the gameplay.
In this scenario, the killers would be significantly weakened to ensure a fair balance within a 3 vs 5 game setting. Alongside three killers and five survivors, there would be six generators that need to be completed before the exit gates can be opened.
From a player’s standpoint, the 3v5 proposition suggests significantly decreasing the waiting times for killers. The original post proposes that if having two killers is enjoyable, then adding a third killer would make it even more thrilling, while there will be only five survivors, leading to a substantial decrease in wait times to find a match as a killer.
Regarding the suggestion of the 3v5 format, it seems this change won’t occur, at least not in the near future. Mandy, a developer and community manager from BeHaviour Interactive, shared their thoughts on why this mode isn’t feasible and doesn’t address the problem with long wait times for killers.
The community manager wrote, “He didn’t talk about the adjustments that would be necessary for equilibrium in that game mode – reducing the power of killers significantly would be needed for fairness, but this isn’t enjoyable to play. Instead, it would simply shift the queue issue to another part, not addressing the underlying problem.
You’ve got until November 26th to savor the current version of 2v8 mode, as it will return at a later date. Previews have given us a sneak peek at the upcoming batch of killers and maps. Furthermore, there are hints suggesting that two significant licensed killers might not be able to join due to licensing complications.
