New Harlan Coben Netflix show gets holiday release date

As a seasoned gamer and Netflix enthusiast with an extensive background in binge-watching mystery series, let me tell you, my fellow Harlan Cobetrotters, we are in for a treat this New Year’s Day! With the upcoming premiere of “Missing You,” I can already picture myself huddled under a blanket, popcorn at the ready, as I delve into another captivating tale by none other than the master of suspense himself, Harlan Coben.

Here’s some exciting news for the Harlan Cobetrotters! A brand-new Harlan Coben series is set to premiere on Netflix this upcoming holiday season!

No, it’s not Thanksgiving or Christmas, but Missing You premieres on the next-best holiday!

Beginning on January 1st, 2025, the captivating mystery series “Missing You” – adapted from Coben’s novel – will be available for your viewing pleasure on Netflix. Kickstart the most anticipated year of TV shows on Netflix with this intriguing whodunit! Excitingly, new seasons of fan favorites like “Stranger Things,” “Wednesday,” “Squid Game,” “The Night Agent,” “You,” and “Ginny and Georgia” are also coming our way!

For the second consecutive year, Netflix has a habit of premiering new series by Harlan Coben on New Year’s Day. To remind you, “Stay Close” with Michelle Keegan and Richard Armitage debuted on January 1, 2024, while “Fool Me Once” was released on December 31, 2021. Prior to that, “The Stranger” featuring Richard Armitage was launched on January 30, 2020. In summary, Netflix tends to air Coben’s shows during the holiday season.

Man, I was totally hooked on “Fool Me Once” in 2024 – it was the top Netflix show until “Bridgerton” season 3 part 2 came out in June! Crazy, right? Even beat out “Stranger Things” season 3! Netflix has been hyping up “Missing You”, and it’s set to premiere on the same day as “Fool Me Once” next year. Can’t wait!

It’s interesting, but I can’t say I’m mad about it. I know what I’ll be doing on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and who I’ll be spending it with (Harlan Coben and these great characters, of course!)

Regarding Armitage, he’s part of the cast for “Missing You” alongside Rosalind Eleazar, Ashley Walters, Jessica Plummer, Marc Warren, Sir Lenny Henry, James Nesbitt, Steve Pemberton, Matt Jay-Willis, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, and Samantha Spiro. In simpler terms, Armitage is joining forces with Rosalind Eleazar, Ashley Walters, Jessica Plummer, Marc Warren, Sir Lenny Henry, James Nesbitt, Steve Pemberton, Matt Jay-Willis, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, and Samantha Spiro in the cast of “Missing You”.

We shared the synopsis for Missing You, via Netflix:

Eleven years ago Detective Kat Donovan’s fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared and she’s never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.

It seems like that’s the kind of program everyone would enjoy unwinding with following the hustle and bustle of the holidays, doesn’t it?

As an eager fan, I can’t help but feel the anticipation building up as we draw closer to the release of the new series, “Missing You.” With just six weeks left until its debut, I’m confident that we’ll get our first glimpse of this exciting show soon – perhaps a captivating clip, teaser, or even the official trailer. At the latest, the trailer will be unveiled around three to four weeks before the premiere, so keep your eyes peeled for it in the coming weeks!

It’s highly probable that “Missing You” will be a major success on Netflix! Stay tuned for further updates regarding this exciting new series. Here’s some extra excitement – additional Harlan Coben productions for Netflix are under development as well!

Until “Missing You” hits Netflix, why not check out some other great shows from Harlan Coben? We strongly suggest you stream “Fool Me Once”, “Safe”, “The Stranger”, and “Stay Close” in the meantime!
