As a gamer who’s been through countless virtual battles and character deaths, I can say that Kwon’s demise in Cobra Kai Season 6 is one of the most heart-wrenching moments I’ve experienced yet. It’s not often you see a character meet his end due to an accidental self-inflicted wound, especially during a high-stakes karate tournament.
Fans are eager to discover whether Kwon meets his end in Cobra Kai Season 6, following a heated confrontation with Axel. The season finale of Part 2, titled “Eunjangdo”, sees Daniel and Johnny choosing Barcelona as their training locations for the captains. However, a sneaky move in the semi-final match triggers numerous fights and an unfortunate turn of events for Kwon’s character, leading to a significant event in the final episode of Season 6. Therefore, here’s all you need to know about whether Kwon dies in Cobra Kai Season 6 Episode 10.
Did Kwon die and who killed him in Cobra Kai Season 6’s Sekai Taikai?
Indeed, it’s tragic to say that Kwon has passed away. It wasn’t someone who intentionally took his life; instead, his fierce altercation with Axel unfortunately resulted in an accident where he fell onto a knife.
To start with, Kwon successfully forces Diego Aguilar, Zara, and Maria Alvarez to submit, moving forward into the finals. Yet, the closing scenes of Cobra Kai Season 6 turn out to be tragic for Kwon. Kreese, brandishing his eunjangdo knife, intends to exact revenge on Terry Silver during the karate tournament. However, as the fight ensues, he ultimately loses his weapon.
Meanwhile, Kwon and Sam compete fiercely for supremacy, causing Axel to grow enraged. In response, Axel steps up to challenge Kwon. Notably, Kwon grabs Kreese’s old knife in the process, viewing it as a means to intimidate Axel. Unfortunately, unaware of the danger, Kwon is fatally wounded by the very same knife.
In the air, Kwon seizes the knife and tries a high kick, but when he touches down, the blade pierces his chest instead, causing him to bleed profusely. It wasn’t long before fellow students and instructors realized that, tragically, Kwon had lost his life as a result of an ill-fated move against Axel.
Recently, during an interview with Collider, the showrunners Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald spoke about Kwon’s passing and shared insights on Cobra Kai Season 3.
Schlossberg explained that the show will follow the lives of its students from when they graduate high school up until their adulthood. Therefore, by the end of the series, we’ll have a sense of where their childhoods conclude. Consequently, it’s uncertain whether episode 611 shows us Kwon’s aftermath on the mat or if it’s set years later in Nantucket at Miguel’s Crab Shack. However, you’ll learn the outcome of our characters’ stories in the show.
The third part of Season 6 will come out in February 2025.
