As a seasoned Outlander fan and attendee of The Gathering 2024, I must say that Saturday night at Blue Mountain Tipples and Nibbles was an absolute highlight! The chance to meet the cast and immerse myself in the world of Lallybroch is always a treasured experience.
On Saturday evening during The Gathering 2024, attendees enjoyed Blue Mountain’s Mixology and Snack Time. This event provided another opportunity for guests to mingle with the performers.
Every attendee holding a Lallybroch ticket received Blue Mountain as part of their package. Additionally, extra tickets could be bought, and these were distributed through a random drawing to ensure an equal opportunity for everyone to acquire one.
Here’s a look at the events of the night during The Gathering 2024.
A small gift for Blue Mountain attendees at The Gathering 2024
Over the past few years, I’ve noticed some shifts at Blue Mountain. Once upon a time, there was a communal snack table right smack in the middle of the room, but that setup switched up a couple of years back. This year, however, even the drink service saw a tweak in its approach.
Previously, individuals would rise from their seats during a break to fetch a beverage while wearing a cast. However, this time around, we’ve decided to streamline things by providing each team member with Post-It Notes and pencils. This way, people can jot down their drink orders when they need one. To get the drink, all they have to do is display the Post-It Note, allowing a team member to handle the payment and fetch the beverage for them. This method proved very efficient in managing time.
A chat with the cast at Blue Mountain
The consistent aspect was how the conversations unfolded. There were ten designated tables arranged (with each participant aware of their assigned table), and a cast member would visit each one. Each group at a table had 10 minutes for interaction, and as the cast members moved from table to table, they made an effort to sit next to every attendee to ensure equal opportunities for interaction with them.
Just as with other comparable occurrences, there were certain guidelines in place. At Blue Mountain, taking selfies isn’t permitted. In reality, all cameras and belongings must be kept beneath the table. Furthermore, it’s essential to avoid touching the cast members and not dominating the discussion. It’s advisable to let the cast members initiate the conversation and share what they feel comfortable discussing, often interesting anecdotes from filming or personal experiences.
