Ice Age 6 Release Date Set for Next Entry in Animated Franchise

As a gamer who’s been around long enough to remember the dawn of the Ice Age era (okay, maybe not that far back, but still), I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia upon hearing about the upcoming sixth installment of this beloved animated franchise. The fact that Disney has set the Ice Age 6 release date for December 28, 2026, just a few days after Christmas, is a strategic move that I appreciate as a moviegoer who enjoys holiday season blockbusters.

The official release date for the sixth installment of the Ice Age series, as announced by Disney, is during the holiday season.

When is the Ice Age 6 release date?

As per Disney’s latest adjustments, the premiere date for Ice Age 6 has been scheduled for December 28, 2026. This timing makes it release right around the corner from Christmas, which is an excellent period for films to hit the box office.

The sixth installment of the Ice Age series, Ice Age 6, is set to bring back familiar faces from the franchise. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah will all be returning to their roles as Manny the woolly mammoth, Sid the ground sloth, Diego the saber-tooth tiger, and Ellie the woolly mammoth respectively, continuing their adventures.

Moreover, it’s been announced that Simon Pegg, known for his role as Shaun of the Dead, will once again take on the character of Buck, the one-eyed weasel, a role he first played in 2016’s Collision Course. He later reappeared as this character in The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild on Disney+. At present, the creative team behind the project, including the director and writer, has not been disclosed yet.

20th Century Fox’s subsidiary, Blue Sky Studios, was the creator of Ice Age. This star-studded movie featured actors like Josh Peck, Seann William Scott, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, Nick Offerman, Jennifer Lopez, Peter Dinklage, and Josh Gad lending their voices to the characters.
