In the depths of a smoker’s consciousness lies the belief that it’s somehow beneficial, but that’s like dabbling with flames, Lynch warned. “It could burn you,” he shared, “And I learned that firsthand, as I took a risk and ended up getting hurt.
The renowned filmmaker took up smoking at the tender age of 8, a habit he attempted to break numerous times over the years. However, despite these repeated efforts, he found himself drawn back to it each time. It wasn’t until he was diagnosed with emphysema that the necessity for his health and his family’s well-being compelled him to quit smoking.
Lynch stated, “The warning I read was clear: ‘You have one week left or you’ll perish.’ With every step, I struggled to breathe. My only option seemed to be quitting.
