As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen it all – from the rise and fall of gaming giants to the evolution of virtual worlds that were once mere figments of our collective imagination. The First Descendant (TFD) has been a breath of fresh air in this ever-changing landscape, and I must admit, I was thoroughly hooked since its inception.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t contain my excitement! The Second Season of The First Descendant is just around the corner, less than a month to go! On various social platforms, Nexon has been tantalizing us with hints about the sequel through Chapter 2 teasers. But now, they’ve drawn back the veil completely with a pre-recorded developer commentary. Here you will find all the details about the release date of The First Descendant Season 2, as well as the confirmed new playable characters, the latest Ultimate ability, and the official roadmap for the season. Can’t wait to jump back into the game!
Before the unveiling of S2, Nexon has announced several thrilling updates for fans of TFD to look forward to. Coming soon, “jiggle physics” will be implemented with suitable settings, and the developer is currently revamping a widely beloved character within the community. To top it off, players can now claim a new code for bountiful rewards as a celebration of Nexon’s 30th anniversary.
In just a few weeks, we’ll finally get to see The First Descendant Season 2! And now, we have the confirmed details about its schedule, new characters, and the eagerly anticipated Ultimate event.
The First Descendant Season 2 release date
The second season of “The First Descendant” will be available starting on December 5th, as announced during a pre-recorded developers’ discussion by Nexon.
S1 was a lot of fun with the introduction of Hailey and Ultimate Freyna, and S2 should be even better as we are getting two new Descendants instead of just one, and we are getting another Ultimate that should supersede Freyna.
As a gamer, I’m super excited about these fresh updates! Not only are there some massive new additions, but Nexon has thrown in a colossal Vulgan Legion Boss. This guy dwarfs the other Vulgus creatures, and here’s the best part – his weapons switch up for each phase, so combat stays engaging and dynamic!
According to the developer’s explanation, “during combat, this character wields a handgun and shield. However, when its form transforms, it splits its shield into two pieces and employs them as melee weapons. In its final phase, it draws not just one but two handguns to engage in battle.
TFD Season 2 new characters
For The First Descendant Season 2, one of the freshly playable characters is Keelan. He’s a man whose appearance somewhat echoes Marvel’s Blade due to his sunglasses and fashion sense.
According to the developer’s commentary, it was disclosed that Keelan belongs to a specific team, H.O.U.N.D, which is primarily active in Void Operations. This team is a specialized unit responsible for exploring and, if required, taking control of locations discovered within the Void.
In terms of his gameplay mechanics, he possesses “harmful skills that can be activated mid-air, and his dash move can penetrate enemy defenses”.
One standout feature of Season 2 is undeniably the introduction of a new companion – a German shepherd dog named “Fellow”. Players can engage with Fellow in numerous ways, such as petting him, shaking hands, and even giving high-fives. There are also some unusual but entertaining interactions like teaching him to play the conga!
Instead of just having a regular pet dog, you’ll get the unique ability to personalize your canine friend across four distinct areas: coat, hide, accessories for the torso, and headwear options.
In Season 2 of the game developed by Nexon, there’s a new character named Ines Raya joining the fray. She collaborates with Kaleen and possesses the “Electric attribute”. Her expertise lies in Area of Effect (AoE) combat. Similar to Hailey, she has a distinct body type. However, unlike Kaleen, Ines won’t be available for gameplay right away; Nexon has announced that she will be introduced in week 7.
New Ultimate
As a gamer, I’m pumped about the latest addition to my game arsenal – the new Ultimate character, Sharen! She’ll have not one but two unique skins. The default one is standard, but here’s where it gets interesting: there’s another skin that I’m really excited about because it doesn’t have a helmet or mask, which can sometimes get a bit tedious in games like this. In fact, the developers described it as reminiscent of something straight out of a sci-fi classic, like “Ghost in the Shell”. Can’t wait to dive into the game and give her a spin!
As a gamer, here’s how I might put it: “For me, there are two brand new Ultimate skill modules coming up. The first one is ‘Area Suppression.’ This module boosts my area-of-effect abilities and gives me the cool trick of being able to hurl shortswords in a full 360-degree circle around me!
As a stealth enthusiast, I’m particularly drawn to the “Ambushed” module. It amplifies my stealth abilities by boosting my movement speed and shortening the cooldown of skills when I’m in stealth. Furthermore, if I manage to take down an enemy while unseen, it resets my stealth, almost creating a loop that allows for prolonged periods of stealth action.
