The First Descendant dev with "important news": The game will get official "jiggle physics"

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must confess that my initial reaction to the news about “jiggle physics” in The First Descendant is one of bewilderment. In all honesty, I’ve seen many updates over the years, but this one seems to be more focused on… well, let’s just say it’s a bit off-center from what I usually expect.

In the case of “The First Descendant,” it’s going to get the kind of updates that cause specific characters’ bodies to move or wobble.

It appears that the team behind Nexon’s development, known for creating “The First Descendant,” show a remarkable level of dedication towards fan service, or they are particularly enthusiastic about it. Moreover, there’s excitement building around the game, which is sometimes referred to as a Destiny-like title, as it is expected to introduce a significant new feature in the near future.

In October, Nexon introduced an update to the game that eliminated some “tails” from a specific skin, allowing players to view… in essence, slightly less tail and yet more of it at the same time.

Now, with a sense of excitement, a developer shared that an upcoming update for the game will incorporate “realistic movement dynamics” on Discord.

I wanted to share some important news, so I decided to come online late tonight. After a lengthy discussion with the AD today, a decision has been made to add the much-requested ‘Jiggle Physics.’ This was decided only a short while ago, so the details of when and how it will be implemented in the game are yet to be finalized and will be shared in future updates.

Some carefree summer folk among us might not be familiar with “jiggle physics”, but it essentially amplifies the motion of specific body parts on your game characters for a more dramatic representation of reality. This type of enhanced realism in video games has been around since the 90s, as seen in games like Fatal Fury 2.

While some developers and gamers find the unique physical aspects crucial, not everyone shares this enthusiasm. For instance, Fortnite introduced “jiggling” in 2018 only to later remove it, with Epic Games labeling it as “unintentional and embarrassing.

Let’s find out if the inclusion of jiggle physics, as the developers suggest, will prove crucial for The First Descendant once the update is rolled out.

As a gamer, I’m pondering – does this game truly necessitate these updates, or would it be more intriguing for me if they focused on tweaks that enhance the gaming experience instead?
