What happens in the Back in Action trailer?
As I watched the electrifying trailer for Back in Action, I found myself strapped in, heart pounding, as Diaz and Foxx’s characters darted through a series of pulse-quickening, death-defying predicaments. They were on a relentless mission to eliminate threats, not just for their own safety, but also for the people they hold dear. In a climactic moment towards the end, they could be seen leaping from an exploding aircraft, plummeting headlong into a snow-capped mountain peak. The adrenaline rush was off the charts!
After leaving their spy lives behind to start a family, Emily and Matt are unwillingly pulled back into the realm of covert operations as their identities are exposed once more, according to the film’s summary.
Joining Diaz and Foxx on the cast of Back in Action are Kyle Chandler (known for his role as Lanterns), Andrew Scott (renowned for his portrayal of Ripley), Jamie Demetriou (who played Cruella), McKenna Roberts (familiar with Skyscraper), Rylan Jackson (a familiar face from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), and the legendary Glenn Close (best recognized for her role in Fatal Attraction).
As a fan, I’m excited to say that the movie is directed by none other than Seth Gordon, who has an impressive resume under his belt. He’s the man behind films like Four Christmases from 2008, Horrible Bosses in 2011, Identity Thief in 2013, and Baywatch in 2017, just to name a few. Interestingly, he collaborated with Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors) on the screenplay for Back in Action.
Jenno Topping, Peter Chernin, Sharla Sumpter Bridgett, and others are the producers of this movie, with Chernin Entertainment, Good One Productions, and Exhibit A all contributing to its production. Meanwhile, Foxx, Datari Turner, Brendan O’Brien, and Tim Lewis have taken on executive producer roles.
Back in Action releases on Netflix on January 17, 2025.
