20th Century Studios has unveiled the initial trailer for “The Amateur,” an imminent spy-thriller featuring Rami Malek, Lawrence Fishburne, among others.
What happens in The Amateur trailer?
The trailer outlines the tale of Charlie Heller (portrayed by Malek), a gifted yet reserved CIA analyst whose spouse is brutally slain. Despite his superiors denying him the chance to pursue the murderers, Heller takes matters into his own hands and employs his exceptional skill set to locate those responsible.
The Amateur is set to be released in theaters nationwide beginning on April 11, 2025.

“Malek, known as Charlie Heller in this story, is an intelligent yet introverted CIA analyst working from his basement office at Langley headquarters. His world gets shattered when his wife dies in a London terrorist attack. Despite the reluctance of his superiors to act, he decides to take justice into his own hands and embarks on a risky global journey, using his intelligence as a powerful tool for evading pursuers and exacting revenge upon those responsible.
The Amateur movie is helmed by director James Hawes, who collaborated on the screenplay with Ken Nolan and Gary Spinelli. This film is adapted from Robert Littell’s 1981 novel of the same name. Hutch Parker, Dan Wilson, Malek, and Joel B. Michaels are involved in producing this movie, while JJ Hook serves as an executive producer.
