Tencent Games’ subsidiary, LightSpeed, has unveiled the launch of a fresh studio based in Japan: the LightSpeed Japan Studio.

LightSpeed Japan Studio is set to primarily run operations out of Tokyo and Osaka, focusing on the creation of original AAA action games. This endeavor will be spearheaded by Hideaki Itsuno, a seasoned director with more than three decades of experience in the industry who previously worked at Capcom.

LightSpeed Japan Studio intends to establish a work environment that is both adaptable and welcoming, promoting creativity and encouraging the growth of innovation. Their goal is to nurture an atmosphere where technical proficiency flourishes. They are looking to employ multi-platform, cross-device technology in game development, enabling them to cater to a vast international player base.
