Yash starrer Toxic lands in legal trouble as Karnataka Forest Department files case over illegal cutting of trees for film set construction

As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that it’s always intriguing to witness the behind-the-scenes drama that unfolds during film productions. The latest development involving Yash starrer Toxic is no exception.

Among the most eagerly awaited movies of 2025 is “Toxic,” starring Yash. Filming for this production has already begun in Mumbai, with Kiara Advani as his co-star. Unfortunately, the movie’s creators are currently embroiled in legal issues, as the Karnataka Forest Department has filed a case against them.

Based on the findings from the ANI report, authorities have taken action by filing a complaint against the movie producers who allegedly violated laws by chopping down trees in a forest to build film sets within Bengaluru. Additionally, a charge was brought against the General Manager of Canara Bank and the General Manager of Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT).

Lately, Minister Eshwar Khandre from Karnataka’s Environment Department inspected the Peenya location and scrutinized satellite imagery that supposedly showed the extent of deforestation. He then urged the relevant officials to swiftly enforce penalties on those who illegally felled trees within the protected forest zone. It’s important to note that HMT is currently in possession of the contested land.

Previously, Eshwar Khandre shared with reporters that he had inspected the location where Toxic is being filmed. It appears that hundreds of trees were unlawfully felled for the movie production on land governed by HMT, as evidenced in satellite imagery. Consequently, we will enforce penalties against those responsible for breaking the rules. Unauthorized tree cutting within forestland is a punishable act.

As I eagerly lend my support, it’s me, a dedicated follower, who’s excited to share that I’m part of Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups, a captivating project under the guidance of Geetu Mohandas. This venture was officially unveiled last year and commenced production in 2024. The makers are now planning to debut this masterpiece on April 10, 2025.

In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Yash explained his reasoning behind selecting an unconventional title for the film. He noted that while there are numerous fairy tales meant for children, none cater to adults. Therefore, he proposed creating a fairy tale suitable for grown-ups and giving the movie a fitting title. The actor expressed that both the title and tagline were particularly pertinent.

For those who may not be familiar, at present, Yash is engaged in the filming of Toxic. Additionally, John Wick’s action director, JJ Perry, has signed on to work with the production team of this movie.
