Upcoming movie titled “Wife & Dog” is penned and helmed by Ritchie. He also has other productions underway, such as “In the Grey,” scheduled for release next year, and “Fountain of Youth,” for which there’s no confirmed release date yet.
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch has been added to the lineup for the film titled “Wife & Dog.” Moreover, Anthony Hopkins and Rosamund Pike are also set to appear in this upcoming production, which is being developed by Black Bear Pictures.
What do we know about Guy Ritchie’s Wife & Dog?
At present, specifics about the plot are being withheld, but Black Bear Pictures characterizes it as a revisit to the vibrant, treacherous milieu of the British nobility that Richie previously delved into through his film and television project, The Gentlemen.
In January of 2020, the movie titled “The Gentlemen” hit the screens. This film was both penned and guided by Ritchie, and it featured an ensemble cast that included Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant.
In March of 2024, a new series called “The Gentlemen” made its debut on Netflix. This show, already renewed for another season, features Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, and Vinnie Jones as the main cast members.
Ritchie is teaming up with Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg from Black Bear, producing a film titled “Wife & Dog.” Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler are serving as executive producers on this project. Earlier this year, Black Bear Pictures started selling the movie at the Cannes Film Festival. Filming is expected to commence in February 2025 within the United Kingdom.
Wife & Dog marks the third collaboration between Ritchie, Atkinson, and Black Bear Pictures following 2024’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and In the Grey. In the Grey will hit United States theaters on January 17, 2025.
A release date for Wife & Dog has not yet been announced.
