Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will premiere on February 14, 2025, both in the U.S. on Peacock streaming service and in cinemas worldwide. The original cast members – Renée Zellweger, Emma Thompson, and Hugh Grant – are returning to their roles as Bridget Jones, Dr. Rawling, and Daniel Cleaver respectively, marking their reunion for this project.
Additional actors such as Chiwetel Ejiofor from “The Old Guard,” Leo Woodall known for “One Day,” Isla Fisher famous for “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” Nico Parker starring in “The Last of Us,” and others will be joining the cast.
In the storyline, we find Bridget single once more, as her husband Mark (Colin Firth) passed away four years prior on a charitable mission in Sudan. Now a dedicated single mother to Billy (age 9) and Mabel (4), she’s been lingering emotionally, with assistance from her supportive friends and even an ex-flame, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant). Encouraged by her close-knit family – Shazzer, Jude, Tom, workmate Miranda, her mother, and the wise Dr. Rawlings (Emma Thompson) – Bridget embarks on a journey to move forward in life and relationships. This leads her back to work and exploring online dating platforms, where she quickly attracts the attention of an attractive and eager suitor, Leo Woodall from White Lotus.
In this next installment, Michael Morris takes the helm as director, with Fielding penning the script. The production team includes Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Jo Wallett, while Fielding, Amelia Granger, and Sarah-Jane Wright serve as executive producers.
