Malayalam actor Siddique gets relief in rape case as Supreme Court extends interim anticipatory bail: REPORT

As a devoted fan of Siddique’s remarkable acting career spanning over two decades, I find myself deeply troubled by the ongoing legal saga surrounding him. Having witnessed his captivating performances in films like Sukhamayirikkatte and countless others, it is heart-wrenching to see such a talented artist embroiled in such distressing circumstances.

After receiving some good news, Siddique can now relax as the Supreme Court has prolonged his temporary bail in relation to a rape accusation for an additional week. As reported by PTI, Justices Satish Chandra Sharma and Bela M Trivedi made this decision on September 30th, extending the initial relief granted to Siddique. The judges also requested that he continues to assist with the ongoing investigation.

According to the report, a senior attorney for Siddique asked for additional time to make his case due to health concerns. He also pointed out that the investigative team has been repeatedly asking for Siddique’s phone and computer from 2016. The lawyer stated that Siddique no longer owns those electronic devices.

In a different phrasing, here is how the sentence could read: The senior attorney pointed out that the officers are requesting the actor’s passport information and Aadhaar details, even though they know he only met the complainant once in his lifetime. However, the lawyer representing Kerala Police argued that Siddique has been uncooperative with the investigating officers.

During questioning, he’s reportedly given unclear responses and also removed his social media profiles.

It’s been reported that actor Siddique has been questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on two occasions. This is in relation to accusations made against him for sexual assault of a young actress in a Kochi hotel back in 2016. The accuser informed the police that the incident took place after Siddique attended a screening of the film Sukhamayirikkatte at a theater in Thiruvananthapuram.

At the gathering, Siddique is claimed to have deceptively invited her to a hotel and then sexually violated her. The young actress reportedly stated, as quoted by The Statesman, “I was confined in a room. He physically harmed me and told me it was acceptable if I didn’t object to him exceeding boundaries.
