Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 devs shut down DRM claims, wishes gamers would just shut up about it

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can tell you that the absence of Denuvo in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is music to my ears (and presumably, the CPU’s too). The constant battle against DRM has been a never-ending struggle for many players like myself. It’s like a pesky mosquito that just won’t quit buzzing around your gaming sanctuary.

In the highly-anticipated sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, players can rest assured – there will be absolutely no Digital Rights Management (DRM) implemented in the medieval role-playing game. Contrary to rumors circulating on social platforms, the development team has explicitly stated that the game will not incorporate any type of DRM.

During a recent Twitch broadcast, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, head of public relations for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, clarified that the game does not use Denuvo DRM. He expressed his hope that gamers would cease spreading unfounded information regarding this title.

No, Denuvo isn’t in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In a recent discussion by Stolz-Zwilling along the riverbanks, it was clarified that at the game’s release, the RPG will not feature Denuvo DRM. Internal debates have taken place within the developer team Warhorse, yet they have opted against incorporating any Digital Rights Management systems for this upcoming project.

In a bid to prevent unauthorized access, the Denuvo DRM system is designed to deter free gaming. However, this strategy can negatively impact the performance of games for paying customers as well. A purportedly leaked email has sparked criticism among gamers over a feature they claim isn’t actually part of the game itself.

Stolz-Zwilling clarified that KCD2 will not include any form of Digital Rights Management (DRM) system, including Denuvo. He explained that there were some misunderstandings and misinformation, but ultimately, the game will be free from any Denuvo protection.

The Kingdom Come Deliverance PR chief took the opportunity to tell viewers that they shouldn’t trust information that doesn’t come straight from the developers, and to shut up about Denuvo in the game.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is scheduled to launch on PC and console on February 11, 2025.
