As a die-hard wrestling fan with decades of fandom under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia watching Bully Ray team up with Trick Williams on WWE NXT. The energy at the 2300 Arena was electrifying, reminiscent of the ECW days when Bubba Ray Dudley was a household name.
On the most recent episode of WWE NXT held at the 2300 Arena, WWE Hall of Famer known as Bully Ray joined forces with Trick Williams. The previous week, viewers witnessed Bully Ray engaging in a confrontation with Ethan Page and Ridge Holland on NXT.
The story kicked off at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc following Trick Williams’ victory of the NXT Championship. After the bout, Ridge Holland assaulted Williams. At first, Ethan Page attempted to intervene, but later joined forces with Holland, inflicting further harm on Williams. However, Bubba Ray Dudley stormed into the ring, clashed verbally with Holland during the broadcast. In the end, he got into a fight with both Holland and Page, stepping in to protect Williams from the attack.
After a fierce fight, Trick Williams managed to persuade Bully Ray to join him for a bout against Ridge Holland and Ethan Page. This event transpired at the iconic ECW 2300 Arena. Despite Williams and Ray coming up short against Holland and Page in this match, an exciting twist unfolded this week. The most recent episode of NXT directly competed with AEW Dynamite.
Recent reports show WWE NXT drew 619,000 viewers, surpassing AEW Dynamite’s 523,000 viewers. After the ratings were released, Bully Ray appeared to take a shot at AEW following his appearance on NXT.
What were Bully Ray’s remarks following WWE NXT?
As a passionate WWE NXT fan, I’m thrilled to share that this week, our beloved NXT triumphed over AEW Dynamite in ratings when they squared off! The charismatic Bully Ray, a familiar face on our show, couldn’t resist taking a playful swipe at the win. Taking to social media platform X, Ray posted a snapshot of himself alongside Trick Williams and Devon Dudley, all three having graced the NXT stage recently.

I proudly labeled this picture as “Demo God,” harkening back to AEW legend Chris Jericho’s moniker during his fierce battles against NXT in the Wednesday Night Wars from 2019 to 2021, where he was known as the “Demo God.
